THE CORSICAN NEBBIU

In previous years, the Taurus Prize for Visual Arts was successively devoted to an urban area (Lagos, Nigeria) and to a river (Rhone). This year, the Taurus Foundation chose an insular terrain. The Foundation chose the Corsican region of the Nebbiu, as its new research area. The selection committee will also consider applications for projects devoted to the broader Nort-West Corsican regions (Cape and Balagne).

The Nebbiu’s name is derived from the nebulous formations that can be seen before sunrise, when the hot air from the sea meets the cooler air coming down from the Corsican mountains.

The deadline to apply is mid-October 2024 and we welcome applications from any artists interested in spending time in Corsica, in the Nebbiu region. The laureate of the Taurus Prize will be exhibited in 2025 in both Corsica and Switzerland.
