The Taurus Prize for Sciences is awarded to a scholar by the board of the Foundation, comprised of specialists from the fields of paleoanthropology and prehistory, every two years. Dedicated to those areas of research and to the study of human evolution, the prize (5.000 CHF) can be awarded to a specific research project or an institution, in Switzerland or abroad.
The laureates are chosen by the Foundation's selection committee (no call for projects will be sent) and the prize is awarded to a specific, accomplished project, according to its specific quality.
For each edition of the prize, the selection process starts in May. The name of the laureate or of the laureate institution is announced in November and the prize (5.000 CHF) awarded to him/her/it by the entire selection committee, in the presence of the board of the Taurus Foundation.
The laureate of the Taurus Prize for Sciences will be announced in November 2018.
